Shawdesh Desk:
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said she does not feel anger towards Sheikh Hasina though her arch-rival harassed her deliberately during the last 15 years.
“Say, what will I do expressing my anger towards her? I tell everything to Allah,” the former prime minister told Law Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul in response to a query when he paid a courtesy call on her recently.
Khaleda Zia has faced various forms of persecution during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. Khaleda Zia has endured imprisonment and spent a long period under house arrest. Her appeals for medical treatment abroad have also been repeatedly denied.
Asif Nazrul shared memories on his verified Facebook page on Monday, recounting details of his meeting with Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence last November.
During the meeting, the law adviser inquired about the health condition of Khaleda Zia and at one stage he wanted to know whether she feels any anger towards her political arch-rival Sheikh Hasina.
“Khaleda Zia never uttered Sheikh Hasina’s name during my conversation, even after I asked a direct question. When recalling the hard times of the last 15 years, Khaleda Zia did not make any harsher comments. Rather, her response was quite calm,” Asif Nazrul said.
In his post, the law adviser wrote Khaleda Zia did not make a single bad comment against Sheikh Hasina. She just reduces her mental burden by keeping faith in Allah.
Khaleda Zia is scheduled to leave Dhaka for London on Monday for her advanced treatment there.
Meanwhile, her physician AZM Zahid Hossain this noon said that the BNP chairperson would be directly admitted to an advanced medical centre in London after arriving at Heathrow International Airport in the UK.
All sorts of preparation has already been completed, said Zahid, also a standing committee member of the party.
