At least three people were killed and one injured as a microbus fell into nearby pond after it was hit by a train at a level crossing at Munshibari area under sadar upazila in Faridpur district on Tuesday.

Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Talha Bin Jashim said that the incident took place at 12:28pm and first unit from the Faridpur sadar fire station reached the spot 10 minutes later.

‘Three units of firefighters are working to recover the passengers of the microbus. We are yet to confirm how many passengers were in the microbus,’ Talha told New Age.

He said that they were yet to know the names and identities of the victims.
