Shawdesh Desk; A man and his son were killed as a bus rammed their motorbike at Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali district on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place at around 11am in Junudpur area under Joyag union of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Liton Chandra Debnath, 50, and his son Pranta Chandra Debnath, 10. Both were residents of Bhatpara village under Ward no-1 in the union.

Quoting locals, Joyag Union Parishad Chairman Shawkat Akbar Polash said the accident occurred when a the driver of a Janani Paribahan passenger bus lost control over the steering of the vehicle and rammed Liton’s motorbike, leaving the duo dead on the spot and another sone of the deceased critically injured.

Sonaimuri Police Station officer-in-charge Md Bakhriar Uddin said the bus fell into a roadside ditch after crushing the duo to death on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and kept at the upazila health complex.
