Sheikh Anne’s mortal remains to be brought back tonight, burial on Thursday

The mortal remains of MP Sheikh Anne Rahman, who passed away at a hospital in Bangkok on Tuesday, will be brought back on Wednesday night.

“The body of the reserved seat MP will be flown to Pirojpur by a helicopter on Wednesday night and her first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Government Boys’ High School ground in Priojpur district town on Thursday morning,” Pirojpur’s deputy commissioner Zahedur Rahman said.

Later, Sheikh Anne’s body will be taken to Dhaka, where a second namaz-e-janaza will be held after the Asr prayer. Finally, she will be laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard.

Sheikh Anne, who was suffering from cancer, breathed her last around 1pm on Tuesday at a hospital in Bangkok, said Goutam Narayan Roy Chowdhury, personal assistant to Bangladesh Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim.
