Former President Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed has passed away.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka this morning.
The former president died at around 10:30 am today at the age of 92 years. He had been suffering from old-age complications for the last several years.
At the death of Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed, Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has expressed profound shock.
He prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Shahabuddin Ahmed, also the former Chief Justice of the country, was the head of the interim government after the fall of Ershad regime in 1990.
Later, he was made President after the Awami League came to power in 1996.
Shahabuddin Ahmed was born on February 1, 1930 in Netrokona.
