Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said the government is determined to stamp out Tuberculosis (TB), a contagious infection.

The lawmakers from various constituencies can play important role in boosting public awareness about demerits of tobacco and cigarettes, she opined.

She was addressing as the chief guest at a consultative workshop titled “Accelerating Efforts to End Tuberculosis” organised by the USAID’s Alliance for Combating TB in Bangladesh (ACTB). The Speaker was linked to the programme virtually.

IEDCR scientist Dr Sayera Banu presided over the workshop which was addressed by Aroma Dutta MP, among others.
