Shawdesh Desk: Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad urgently need huge volume of blood following his dialysis on Friday at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital, said Ershad’s personal secretary and also JP presidium member Khaled Akhter.

‘His blood group is B+. The donors are requested to contact CMH,’ he said.

He was given dialyses as his kidneys were not functioning, he said adding that Ershad was not even in the position to take abroad for aborad.

‘He was on life support since Thursday afternoon,’ he said.

Especial prayers were offered after the Friday prayers in many mosques across the country, JP leaders said.

Ershad’s wife and also JP senior co-chairperson after visiting Ershad Thursday requested everybody to pray for him.

The 89-year-old former military dictator Ershad, now leader of the opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament), was admitted to the CMH on June 22.

He has been suffering from myelodysplastic syndromes and several other complications in his lungs, liver and kidneys.

Eight bags of blood were injected in the past six hours.
