6 killed in road crashes in 3 districts

At least six people were killed in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria, Chattogram and Mymensingh districts on Wednesday.

In Brahmanbaria, two workers of Khan Agro Food Rice Mill were killed and three others injured after an unidentified vehicle hit them in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria on Wednesday morning.

One of the deceased was identified as  Md Haider Ali, 30.

 

The injured are now undergoing treatment at Brahmanbaria General Hospital.

Shahjalal Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) Khati Hata Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.

In Chattogram, two workers were killed and another was injured in a road accident in 1 no gate of Chattogram University.

The deceased were identified as Md Nasir Uddin, 55, son of late Korban Ali, Md Rubel Hossain, 25 of Foteyabad area.

According to locals, a Chittagram-bound speedy bus from Nazirhat hit the victims while they were uploading decoration goods in a mini pickup on the side of the road at 9:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot and another injured.

ASI Alauddin Talukder of Chittagong Medical College Hospital confirmed the matter.

In Mymensingh, two people were killed after a truck hit a laguna in Bagar Bazar area under Trishal upazila of Mymensingh.

The deceased were identified as Rima Akter, 20 and Sabbir Hossain, 23 of Ramdia village in Bhaluka upzila.

The Dhaka-bound truck hit the laguna carrying the victims on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, leaving them injured, said Main Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station.

Later, locals took the injured to a hospital where duty doctor declared Rima and Sabbir dead.
