A three-day film festivals with six future movies made by women film directors kicked off ahead of International Women Day as part of the celebration of ‘Mujib Borsha’ marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira inaugurated the film festival, organised by Bangladesh International Film Movement with support of Joyeeta Foundation and Diamond World, at Shilpokola Academy in the capital.
While inaugurating the festival, Indira urged the entrepreneurs to step forward along with the government to encourage more women in making film.
Six movie – ‘Hazar Bochhor Dhore’ of Kohinur Akhter Suchanda, ‘Meghla Akash’ of Nargis Akhter, ‘Rani Kuthir Baski Itihash’ of Samia Zaman, ‘Kokhn o Megh Kokhn o Brishti’ of Mousumi, ‘Uttorer Shur’ of Shahnewaz Kakoli and ‘The Wanted Twin’ of Nanziba Khan – will be screen at the festival.
