Bangladeshi actor Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed will make her Tollywood debut in the upcoming Durga Puja. The artiste-starrer film “Joto Kando Kolkatatei” is set to be released in Kolkata’s theatres on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Although the shooting of Anik Dutta directorial wrapped up in 2022 with an initial release plan for 2024, the production house Friends Communication officially confirmed the new release date by unveiling the motion poster on Friday.
Nawshaba has played the character of a girl from Bangladesh who finds herself entangled in a mystery while tracing her origins.
The actor is very exciting about the film. Talking to media Nawshaba said, “I joined the ‘Joto Kando Kolkatatei’ team after an audition. Actually, it was a magical journey. One day, I got a text from director Anik Dutta dada suddenly. After auditioning, I began shooting for the film in September 2023. Finally, the movie is going to be released in theatres.”
Nawshaba has also a plan to visit to Kolkata during the film release period.
The film “Joto Kando Kolkatate” carries a nostalgic echo of Feluda, the iconic detective created by Satyajit Ray. Abir Chatterjee steps into the shoes of Topshe, but with character traits resembling Feluda in many ways. This alignment with the beloved detective and his creator promises an exciting cinematic experience for fans of both.
The music of “Joto Kando Kolkatate” has been crafted by the talented Debjyoti Mishra, while Saptarshi Majumdar takes on the role of executive producer.
Besides Abir Chatterjee and Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Paran Banerjee and Miska Sinha have played two important roles in the film.
