The bench issued the order following a contempt of court petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.

Petitioner’s counsel Manzill Murshid told the court that the satellite image and a newspaper report revealed that most of the illegal brick kilns were still operating there.

Manzill also submitted to the court   a report published on February 12, 2021, titled Brick Kilns in Khulna’s Dumuria: United they Kill Rivers.
