The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police arrested two suspected members of the banned militant outfit “Allahr Dal” from Poolhat Kasba area of Dinajpur town early Saturday.

The arrestees are identified as easy-bike driver Md Ali Akash, 36, son of Mokshed Ali, hailing from Karimullahpur Mollapara in Sadar upazila of the district and grocery shopkeeper Md Shahbul Islam alias Alaies Sajhu, 40, son of late Kefatulla Mia, hailing from Kasba area.

Tipped off, a team of law enforcers conducted a drive at a rented house of Abdur Rahman and arrested the duo around 3:00 am.

Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) Additional Superintendent of Police Md Akhiul Islam led the drive.

They were handed over to Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station after filing a case, sources said.
