A Kushtia court on Wednesday awarded death sentence to four people for the murder of a farmer in 2017.

District and Sessions Judge Arup Kumar Goswami passed the verdict.

The convicts are Md Shyamol Pramanik, 40, from Arkandi village under Bheramara upazila in Kushtia, Asmat Ali Mandal, 43, from the same village, victim Hanif Ali Khamaru’s second wife Dolena Begum, and Hanif’s nephew Mukul Hossain, 38.

The incident took place on April 11, 2017. Police submitted the charge sheet of the murder case on June 15, 2017.
