HC justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman removed

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has removed Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman from his position as a judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

The Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

According to a news update published Thursday on the Supreme Court’s official website, the removal was based on the recommendation of the Supreme Judicial Council, in accordance with the constitutional provision under which the President acted.

Justice Diliruzzaman was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court on 31 May 2018, and was made a permanent judge on 30 May 2020.

This marks the second such removal in recent months. Earlier, on 18 March, the President dismissed Justice Khizir Hayat from the High Court Division, also under Article 96(6) of the Constitution. That decision was similarly announced through a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division.

Justice Khizir Hayat was appointed as an additional judge on 31 May 2018 and became a permanent judge on 30 May 2020.
