Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman said that the national elections of Bangladesh should be held in December.
He made the remarks during ‘Officers Address’ held at the Dhaka Cantonment on Wednesday where all units of Army officers joined in-person and virtually, several officers who attended the event told New Age.
A Bangladesh Army major who attended the programme virtually told New Age that the Army chief gave a hint to trying to hold the election by December.
In the event, contemporary issues, including elections, humanitarian corridor to Myanmar’s Rakhaine State, Chittagong Ports, reforms and mob violence, were also discussed.
