ACC to file lawsuit against Papon for illegal transaction worth Tk800cr

Shawdesh Desk:

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file a lawsuit against former president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Nazmul Hassan Papon, in connection with his illegal transaction worth Tk 800 crore.

Meanwhile, the anti-corruption watchdog claimed to have found evidence of Papon and his family members possessing Tk 33 crore, which they earn through unknown sources of income.

Based on adequate evidence, the ACC has already given approval to file a case against Papon, who was also the minister of Youth and Sports of the recently ousted Awami League government.

Md Saiduzzaman, deputy director of the ACC, will file the case against Papon and his wife in this connection immediately, said a source of the ACC.

The ACC received many allegations of misappropriating hundreds of crores of money from the BCB against Papon, who served as president of the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh for the last decade, according to the source.
