3 die as ambulance, human-haulier collide on Benapole-Jashore highway

Three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between an ambulance and an engine-run human haulier, known as nosimon, in Nabin Nagar area of the Benapole-Jashore highway this morning.

The deceased were identified as Nazma Khatun, 51, Ratna Khatun, 12, and Bablu Hossain, 52, while the injured as Hasan Iqbal, 30, and Halima Khatun, 28.

The accident took place around 6:00am when the ambulance, heading from Jashore town to Benapole, collided head-on with the vehicle.

Bablu Rahman Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhikargachha Police Station, confirmed the incident and said that the injured have been admitted to Jashore General Hospital.
