Mohammad Nahid Islam, the interim government’s adviser to the ministries of information and broadcasting and posts, telecommunications and information technology, has been submitted his resignation to the chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday.
At a press briefing, held outside the chief adviser’s residence State Guest House Jumuna, he said, ‘today at 1:00pm at an informal meeting of the adviser’s council I have submitted my resignation to the chief adviser.’
He said that he had resigned from both the ministries and all government committees.
‘From today I am not in the government anymore,’ he continued.
Replying to a question, Nahid said that he had resigned to join the new political party.
