Indian vessel MV Tanais Dream, carrying 24,690 tons of parboiled rice, arrived at Chittagong Port on Thursday morning.
The vessel anchored at the seaport around 10AM.
Gnana Priya Bidurshi Chakma, a regulatory officer at the directorate in Chittagong, confirmed the ship’s arrival.
It is the first batch of rice imports from India since Dr Muhammad Yunus-led interim government assumed office.
The unloading will begin after collecting samples of the rice.
