Jovan, Mehazabien’s ‘Best Friend’ to return after 4 yrs

Popular actors Farhan Ahmed Jovan and Mehazabien Chowdhury are all set to return as “Best Friend” again. The upcoming instilment of the Probir Roy Chowdhury-directed drama titled “Best Friend 2.0.”

Probir Roy first made the drama “Best Friend,” starring Jovan and Mehazabien, in 2018. It was very popular at that time. After that, he made two more sequels in 2019 and 2021 respectively. However, the trio has not been seen in any projects for a long time. In the meantime, Mehazabien was also busy with films.

After a long break, the successful “Best Friend” trio is back together. The production company of the project, CMV, recently announced the reunion with the upcoming fourth installment of the drama.

Jovan said, “We will work after a long time. Since the announcement, we have been getting a lot of responses. The expectations of the audience have increased from us. I hope the audience will also like the upcoming installment.”

Meanwhile, Mehazabien is very nostalgic about the project. She said, “I think ‘Best Friend’ was shot in 2018. This was my first time working with director Probir Roy Chowdhury. This drama got a lot of appreciation from the audience, especially for the song ‘Obhijog’. Later the drama became the ‘Best Friend’ franchise. So it made a place in the hearts of the audience.”

“For a long time, Probir Roy was saying that we should do something together again. So we decided to do this project for Valentine’s Day 2025. I hope that we will get the same love that we received in previous installments,” she added.

Director Probir Roy also shared, “After almost 4 years of making the latest sequel of the ‘Best Friend’ drama, we are coming together again. We want to release it on Valentine’s Day next year. This time it is a completely new story. We have a long gap in between because of the lack of a good story. Finally, we all agreed on this story. I hope the upcoming one can fulfill the audience’s enthusiasm for the ‘Best Friend’ franchise.”

The shooting of the drama will be in two parts. The first part will be shot in December, the second part in January. According to the maker, “Best Friend 2.0” is going to be the biggest budget project of the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
