Two people were killed when a motorbike skidded off the road on Patuakhali-Kuakata Highway at Basak Bazar in Sadar upazila of Patuakhali on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Kashem, 26, of Auliapur in Sadar upazila, and Naim, 27, of Charbiswshpur in Galachipa upazila.

The accident took place around 6am when a motorbike carrying two people and a goat skidded off the road while going to Auliapur, said Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Kashem and Naim were killed on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital for autopsy.
