THOMAS Markle says he and King Charles have been treated “so badly” by Harry and Meghan – claiming he could die without ever meeting his grandkids.
Meghan’s father has been estranged from his daughter since suffering two heart attacks on the eve of her wedding to Harry .
The 80-year-old was unable to walk Meghan down the aisle and the couple have not spoken to him since.
Thomas has never met his son-in-law Harry or his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
King Charles has also rarely seen his grandchildren by Harry and Meghan since their move to California in 2020.
Thomas told the Mail : “Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received.
“Why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly?
“Archie and Lilibet have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the King of England.”
Thomas lives alone in Rosarito on Mexico’s Pacific coast – just 250 miles from the Sussexes’ mansion in Montecito.
The Emmy-winning lighting director will turn 80 next month – but is suffering the effects of a serious stroke two years ago.
Thomas said he would love Meghan to call on his birthday, but does not expect her to be in touch.
He added he would now be happy with a photograph of his grandchildren even if he cannot meet them.
Meghan lived full-time with Thomas from the age of 11 while her mum Doria travelled for work.
Thomas said Meghan grew up on sets with him and got her Hollywood start through a director he knew.
Father and daughter fell out after Thomas posed for paparazzi pictures ahead of Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
He admits the snaps were a mistake and says he has apologised repeatedly for them.
Just weeks from his 80th birthday, Thomas now sees little hope of reconciliation with Meghan.
He will instead spend the day with his son Thomas Jr at his Mexico home.
Thomas will also call his eldest daughter Samantha, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is unable to travel from Florida.
A ROYAL expert who watched Prince Harry grow up says she knows why he won’t ever to return to royal life.
Harry has lived in California with his wife Meghan since they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals in 2020.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Harry would be a “great asset” for the palace.
But she said California-based Harry now has the “domestic bliss” he lacked as a child.
Appearing on today’s episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Bond said: “I can’t see Harry returning, really.
“And yes – I do miss him. Harry was the most popular royal a couple of years ago, wasn’t he?
“Having watched him grow up and knowing him just a little bit, he was a wonderful little boy and a charming, jovial adolescent.
“At least that’s what we saw. He was brilliant for the royal family, he did bring a natural common touch and relatability.
“They would have been a great asset had he stayed but I don’t think he will return.
“If I did pray I would pray that he has a happy life now with all that he wanted.
“The freedom he craved, the wife he loves and the children he adores.
“The model of domestic bliss that he didn’t have in his own adolescence.
“I wish him all the best.”
