Shawdesh Desk:
Country’s northern train route will be opened after long 54 years as the railways ministry has started the construction work from Nilphamari’s Chilahati to Haldibari of Indian border.
A Bangladeshi construction company Max has started working on this project.
India has already finished the interchange link at Haldibari of Cooch Behar district. This project will widen the friendship as well as enhance developmental works between the two countries.
The train route was shattered after the India Pakistan war in September, 1965. The connection was continuing prior to war even after the partition held on August 15 in 1947.
The residents of the area still are feeling proud of the bright history of the Chilahati-Haldibari station.
