A woman was killed in a road accident in Dhaka’s Sabujbagh area on Monday morning.

The victim was identified as Zerin Tasmin, 27, a textile engineer and wife of Mohammad Fakhrul Hossain.

The accident took place at about 8:00am at Uttar Manikdiya Club Intersection in Sabujbagh area of Dhaka while the couple was going to their workplaces by a motorcycle.

The victim’s husband Fakhrul said that Zerin fell off the motorbike on the road after he lost control over the bike in front of an auto-rickshaw stand near Uttar Manikdiya Club Intersection and then she was run over by a truck coming from the opposite direction.

She was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead, he said.

Confirming the incident, the hospital police outpost in-charge Md Bachchu Mia said that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
