Five coaches of a Chattogram-bound freight train have derailed on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route in Uttara Courtbari area in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Monday.
However, no casualties were reported in the incident that happened around 9:20am.
‘As soon as the freight train reached the south side of Tongi Railway Bridge in the area, five coaches on the up line of the train suddenly derailed,’Airport Railway Police Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Sunil Chandra Sutradhar said.
Due to the utmost efforts of the railway rescuers team and police, the movement of trains on the down line is operating smoothly right now, he added.
