Unidentified people set fire to two buses in Gulistan and Khilgaon areas in Dhaka amid the countrywide hartal called by the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its allies.

No casualty was reported.

In Gulistan, unidentified people set fire to a bus at Zero Point area in the afternoon.

The bus of Malancha Paribahan was set on fire while it became standstill due to traffic signal at zero point at about 1:00am, New Age correspondent reported from the spot.

Severe traffic congestion occurred in the area following the fire.

In Khilgaon, a bus of Rob Rob Paribahan was set on fire near Meradia Bazar of Khilgaon at about 7:00am, said Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station.

He said that two youths riding on a motorcycle set the bus on fire and fled.

On information, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
