Shawdesh desk:
Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday alleged that the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party was trying to commit sabotage on December 10, the day while the International Human Rights Day will be celebrated across the country as elsewhere in the world.
‘All opposition parties are united in the name of election. BNP has failed in its movement for not having peoole’s participation and now trying to move forward its movement through sabotage and arson attacks. They [BNP] are planning to commit sabotage on the Human Rights Day to move its movement forward,’ he said at a press briefing at AL president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhaka.
He said that they now wanted Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in its movement.
‘We are telling this after receiving proper information. We have more scopes to know as a ruling party,’ he added.
AL presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, its joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, organising secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and office secretary Biplab Barua, among others, were present.
