JOF leaders meet foreign diplomats

Shawdesh Desk: Leaders of Jatiya Oikya Front on Wednesday met with a number of foreign diplomats in the capital city of Dhaka on Wednesday.

The JOF leaders, during the two-hour meeting since 10:00am held at the Gulshan residence of Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, informed the diplomats about recent developments in politics as well as other issues, according to a leader present in the meeting.

Describing the meeting a ‘tea party’, he said that the leaders informed the diplomats about BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release, Rohingya crisis as well as ongoing political and economic situation of the country.

The foreign diplomats included the US ambassador to Bangladesh, British high commissioner, Canadian deputy high commissioner and residential representatives of UN in Bangladesh.

The JOF leaders were Gonoforum president Dr Kamal Hossain, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president ASM Abdur Rob, Nagarik Oikye convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Gonoforum executive president Subrata Chowdhury.
