Shawdesh desk: Two passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw were killed and three others injured after being run over by a truck at Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh on Monday.

The accident took place around 12:30 PM at Kashiganj Bazar under the upazila.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Tarakanda Police Station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun said an auto-rickshaw with passengers was heading towards Mymensingh from Netrakona. On the way, a truck coming from the opposite direction ran over the CNG in that area. A man and a woman died on the spot and three others were injured.

Injured three were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

The OC further said efforts are underway to identify them.
