Many areas in Chattogram city went under water on Sunday morning due to heavy rain.
Chawkbazar, Bahaddarhat, Badurtola, Muradpur, Gate No-2, Chandgoan, Bakalia area went under water causing huge suffering to people of all walks of life.
Meanwhile, the deferred Higher Secondary Certificate examinations of Chattogram board, madrassah board and technical education board started on Sunday.
The examinations of the three boards were shifted from August 17 to August 27 due to flooding in five districts of Chattogram division.
HSC Examinee Nusrat Sultana said she had to walk three kilometres to reach the examination centre at Kapasgola City Corporation College.
The sudden flood caused huge suffering to the HSC candidates as many areas in and around Chattogram city went under water and public transports were not available on the roads due to the flood.
Many candidates reached their exam centres after the exam started.
HSC exam centres in Chattogram municipality started the day’s exam at 11:00am instead of 10:00am, said Chattogram Education Board controller Professor Narayan Chandra Nath.
Besides, exam centres of the other flood affected areas in the district had been directed to start the exam at 11:00am, he added.
