A man was killed and his son was injured when a bus hit their motorcycle from back near the Chanbari area under Sreenagar upazila in Munshiganj on Friday.

The deceased is Amir Hossain, 40. His son Billal Hossain, 11, was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Amir was on the way to Mawa on vacation with his son when a speeding bus hit them from behind on the Mawa-bound lane and fled, said Munshiganj Additional Superintendent of Police Sumon Deb.

Local people and the fire service rescued them and took them to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex, where Amir Hossain was declared dead, said the police official.

The bike involved in the accident has been recovered, and efforts are on to identify the bus, added ASP Sumon.

The body has been kept at Hasara Highway Police Station in Srinagar, he said.
