Two police constables of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) died of dengue fever at separate hospitals in the capital.
The two deceased were identified as Rasel Shikdar, constable of Hazaribagh Police Station and Aysha Akter, constable of Gandaria Police Station.
Additional Commissioner Admin AKM Hafiz Akhter confirmed this information on Sunday.
More than fifty percent of DMP members have infected with dengue fever further, he said. They are now undergoing treatment at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital (CPH) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), he added.
Two police members died of dengue fever till now, he said adding that they have been given special guidelines to recover from the deadly disease.
