Unidentified attackers vandalised and set fire to the office of Nandigram upazila unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Bogura on Friday night.
General secretary of upazila unit BNP, Belayet Hossain Adar, said a group of masked attackers swooped on the office around 10:00pm and set it on fire after pouring petrol.
They also vandalised the chairs at the office. The furniture and banner of the office were also burnt in the fire.
BNP has organised a two-hour sit-in programme on Saturday as part of their 10-point demand. The leaders of the upazila unit BNP were not present at the office during the incident as they went to the police station to get permission.
On information, local people had doused the flame before a firefighting unit reached the spot, said warehouse inspector Tanvir Hasan of Nandigram Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Condemning the incident, Mosharraf Hossain, former lawmaker of Bogura-4 constituency demanded punishment of those involved in the attack.
Police visited the spot at night.
