A case has been filed against Emad Paribahan in connection with a road accident which killed 19 people at Shibchar Upazila in Madaripur on Sunday.

Jayanto Sarkar, Shibchar Highway Police Sergeant, filed the case with Shibchar Police Station at 12:45pm the same day.

Abu Naeem Md Mofazzel Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Highway Police Station, confirmed the lawsuit.

Describing the incident, he said the bus was coming from Phultala Station in Khulna and fell in roadside ditch at Shibchar, leaving 19 people dead.

Following the incident, a case has been filed under Road Transport Act-2018.

The case was filed on the basis of a vehicle paper which was found in bus and  Emad Paribahan was only written in the paper. As a result, the case was filed against the vehicle owner and authorities, he said.
