124 VSP licenses cancelled

Shawdesh Desk: Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has scrapped licenses of 124 VoIP Service Providers (VSPs).

The telecom regulatory commission has also directed to stop activities of the companies.

The decision has been taken as the VoIP Service Providers did not pay the outstanding dues
and renew license in time, said press release on Wednesday.

BTRC said among companies, 106 did not pay outstanding dues and renew licenses; and 18 apply in due time.

The telecom regulatory body also warned of taking necessary action, including filing case, against the VoIP service providers if the dues are not paid within one month.
