Bangladesh embraces miracle upgradation, becomes role model

Bangladesh has graduated from low-income country to a lower-middle-income country. And in terms of human dignity, Bangladesh has surpassed the whole world. It set example by sheltering 1 million persecuted people from Myanmar.

The country had 21.7 million hectares of arable land during the liberation war, according to ministry of agriculture. The average crop in these lands was one. As a result, the country had to depend on domestic production, foreign grants and aid to meet food demand.

Although 60 percent of the arable land has decreased after 51 years, Bangladesh is able to meet the entire food demand with its own production, even with the pressure of a population that is 102 times higher than before. Recognition of this revolution in agriculture comes from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). In a report on the global food production situation of the organization, Bangladesh is considered among the top 10 food producing countries.

According to the survey of different domestic and foreign organisations, Bangladesh is now third in the world in rice production and third in fish production. It is the first in the world in the production of hilsa being  86 percent of the world’s hilsa production. Bangladesh is now third in the world in freshwater fish production ranking third in the world in vegetable production. Bangladesh ranks second in jute production and first in the world to export jute.

Bangladesh is in fourth position in goat production while fifth in goat meat production. Bangladesh now ranks sixth in the world in potato production. Its position is ninth in tea production.

Bangladesh now ranks eighth in mango production in the world and second in the world in jackfruit production. Currently, Bangladesh ranks eighth in the world in guava production. It is at the tenth position in overall fruit production and twelfth in the world in cattle rearing.

 

Garment industry is currently playing the biggest role in making Bangladesh known to the world. There is no country in the world now where ‘Made in Bangladesh’ clothing is not available. Bangladesh now ranks second in the world in terms of garment exports. Apart from clothes, Bangladeshi medicines are now being exported to 80 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

The domestic pharmaceutical factories are supplying 97 percent of the country’s total demand. Medicines made in Bangladesh are saving lives of people all over the world. Bangladesh has also become one of the top countries in the world in terms of manpower exports.

Bangladeshi youth are building the pride of different countries, greasing wheel of their economies. Bangladesh’s position in UN peacekeeping is foremost. It is the Durbar soldiers of Bangladesh who are protecting the war world with blue helmets on their heads. In this regard, the position of Bangladesh is the first in the world.

The South Asian tiger is also in the top ten in the list of remittance receiving countries. At present, the position of Bangladesh is the eighth in terms of foreign exchange remittances of about 100 million expatriate Bangladeshis.

The number of freelancers in Bangladesh’s information technology (IT) sector is 600 thousand, which is about 27 percent of the world. Thanks to this, Bangladesh ranks the second in this sector.

Economists say that after independence, the United States called Bangladesh a bottomless basket. Now, Bangladesh is challenging the US-backed World Bank because the days have changed. Bangladesh is now implementing its largest self-financed projects. This change in Bangladesh took p[lace in just 51 years into independence. In 1971, the once prosperous country of Pakistan was defeated by Bangladesh through nine months of bloody war. Bangladesh is now ahead of Pakistan in almost all aspects.

In many cases, Bangladesh is ahead of India and China. Its evidence is found in various statistics. But Bangladesh was born long after India and Pakistan. But in terms of health and education, India and Pakistan have been surpassed. Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan in terms of GDP and GDP per capita. Bangladesh is ahead of India and Pakistan in Gross Savings GDP. Bangladesh is ahead of India Pakistan in infant mortality rate. Bangladesh is also at the top in terms of safe environment for children.

Bangladesh is much higher than India and Pakistan in ensuring primary education of children. Bangladesh has surpassed its neighbors in birth rate control. In terms of average life expectancy, Bangladesh has advanced compared to India and Pakistan.

Surpassed the whole world in humanitarian status, Bangladesh has shocked the whole world by sheltering 1 million displaced Rohingya from Myanmar. In 2017, Bangladesh opened the border after the influx of Rohingyas from Myanmar.

Over one millions of Rohingyas took refuge in Bangladesh at different times before this. Bangladesh gets a new humanitarian identity by giving shelter to this large number of Rohingyas.

Appreciation of the humanity of Bangladesh is still coming from different parts of the world. In today’s world, everyone has doubts whether such a large number of asylum seekers would have found a place anywhere other than Bangladesh.
