BUET student Fardin might have been killed in Dhaka: DB

Shawdesh Desk:

Detective Branch (DB) of Police said Fardin Noor Parash, student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), might have been killed in any place in Dhaka.

In a press briefing on Saturday, Harun-or-Rashid, chief of DB, said the investigators analysed mobile data of the victim and found that he talked to several persons in different places in Dhaka.

Police arrested victim’s girlfriend Amatullah Bushra in connection with a case filed by his father, said DB chief, adding that investigators are yet to get any evidence of involvement of the girl.

Rejecting a rumour that BUET student might have been killed due to drug related issue, the police officer said DB teams visited a slum and other places including Narayanganj to find the clues.

“We are neither blaming drug nor girlfriend for his death right now. In fact, no substantial evidence has been found to reach any conclusion in this regard.”

Expressing optimism, he said police will get a clue as investigators are working round-the-clock.

Fardin’s body was recovered from the Shitalakhkhya River behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj on November 7, three days after his going missing.

On November 8, Sheikh Farhad, a physician at Narayanganj General Hospital, claimed several injury marks on Fardin’s head and body, quoting autopsy report.
