Shawdesh Desk: Shamim Kabir, the first captain of Bangladesh cricket team died on Monday, confirmed an official of Bangladesh Cricket Board.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said Shamim, 75, died at a city hospital in the morning.
He was suffering from cancer and had been on life support for the last few days.
Shamim led Bangladesh team in their first-ever international match against MCC, in Dhaka, in January 1977.
In his 15 1st class matches Shamim scored 411 runs at an average of 17.86.
