Bangladesh has reported one more Covid death and 388 new cases in 24 hours till Thursday morning.

With the new numbers, the country’s total fatalities rose to 29,330 and caseload to 2,014,077, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The daily case test positivity rate rose to 7.40 per cent from Wednesday’s 6.94 per cent as 5,241 samples were tested.

The deceased is a woman from Dhaka division.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 percent while the recovery rate dropped to 97.22 per cent.

In August, the country reported 32 Covid deaths and 6,689 cases.

Bangladesh registered its highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28, 2021 and daily fatalities of 264 on August 10, 2021.
