Dhaka mayors to get minister status

The two mayors of Dhaka city corporations will be awarded the status of full minister.

The Prime Minister’s Office gave instructions in this regard to the Cabinet Secretary on Sunday.

The cabinet division will issue a gazette notification in this regard.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) will be given the status of state minister.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh will enjoy all the government’s facilities including salaries and others according to their new portfolios.

Besides, mayors of Chattogram City Corporation Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and Narayanganj City Corporation Selina Hayat Ivy will now enjoy all the same according to their new portfolios.
