Rodolfo Antonio Page, an American man has flown to Bangladesh from thousands of miles distant Florida of United States of America, to be in love with Fouzia Hasan Ananna, a former student of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science of Dhaka University (DU).

The duo tied the knot on Friday (July 29) night at a Banglamotor restaurant in the capital. The American man also converted to Islam before marriage.

Ananna and Rodolfo met on social media during the Corona pandemic in 2020. Then, the two fell in love and dreamt of building a house together. Finally, after overcoming various obstacles, the dream came true.

According to family sources, the bride Ananna grew up in Dhaka’s Rampura. She completed her post graduation from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science of Dhaka University this year. On the other hand, the groom Rodolfo Antonio is a resident of Miami, Florida, USA. He is currently working in an organisation in the United States.

Ananna’s father Mahmudul Hasan said, “We want peace of our girl and the boy. We had objections as the boy was a Christian. But they have settled it themselves. The son converted to Islam. I spoke to the boy’s father and mother about marriage. They have no objection to this marriage. Son’s father could not come to Bangladesh due to illness.”

“Tk 20 lakh has been fixed as denmohor (dower). Tk 3 lakh has been paid. The boy will leave Dhaka on August 6 and take my daughter there within the next six months.”
