The first namaz-e-janaza of former finance minister AMA Muhith was held at Azad Mosque in Gulshan of the capital at 11:00 am on Saturday.

But, his second janaza at the Parliament premises has been cancelled due to unavoidable reason.

His younger brother Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, lawmakers, secretaries and well-wishers took part in the janaza.

The body of AMA Muhith was taken at Central Shaheed Minar after first janaza for paying last respect of people from all walks of life.

He will be laid to rest at his village home in Sylhet tomorrow.

The former finance minister breathed his last at a hospital in the capital in the early hours of Saturday after a prolonged illness.
