At least three people,  including a driver, were killed as a tractor plunged into a roadside ditch in Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Tutul, 22, son of Babul Mia of Bakhor Nagar Bollovbaria area under the upazila, tractor driver Babul Mia, 22, son of Shah Alam of the same area and Md Hasan, 23, son of Shahidul Islam.

The incident occurred at 6:00am on Mochagara-Doripara highway at Jatrapur union under the upazila.

Abul Hashim, officer-in-charge of Muradnogor Police Station, confirmed the accident.

A tractor driver with two helpers were heading towards  Asha brickfield. When the tractor reached Mochagara-Doripara area, it plunged into the ditch, leaving the three people dead, the OC said.

Later, the body of the three were handed over to their respective family members.
