Afghanistan Cricket Board official on Monday thanked Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan for sponsoring them in the ongoing white-ball series.

Shakib al Hasan and his partner opened Monarch Mart, an online shopping platform, recently and came into the limelight by becoming gold sponsor of Fortune Barisal in the just concluded Bangladesh Premier League.

Apart from Shakib, Mohammad Nabi MN7 is the kit sponsor of Afghanistan while Rashid Khan’s RK19 also came forward in helping ACB through different capacities.

Menhaj Raj, ACB’s cricket operations deputy manager, told Daily Sun on Monday that they are happy to see legendary cricketers coming forward and getting associated with them.

‘’To be honest it’s a very positive move and sign for cricket seeing those legendary players sponsoring cricket even through their companies and businesses and that is a very good move,’’ said Menhaj.

‘’These legendary players playing their roles and developing and improving cricket in whatever mean they can so having Rashid, Nabi and now Shakib doing this is a very good sign for us,’’ he said.

‘’They are supporting us and it’s a very positive move,’’ he concluded.

Afghanistan is currently in Bangladesh playing three-match ODI’s series while they will complete their tour with a two-match T20’s against the host.
