Noted journalist and daily Bangladesh Pratidin’s Executive Editor Pir Habibur Rahman passed away at a hospital in the capital.

He breathed his last at the Labaid Hospital around 4:08 pm on Saturday.

The previous day, he suffered a stroke while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital and was shifted to the ICU of Labaid Hospital in Dhaka.

Journalist Pir Habibur Rahman had been suffering from many physical problems, including kidney ailment.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan condoled the death and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.

In a message, he also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
