The country’s realtors bagged spot orders worth Tk 3.97 billion for plots, flats and commercial spaces from the visitors at the five-day Rehab Winter Fair-2021 that ended in the capital on Monday.

City dwellers took a huge interest in the fair organised by Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (Rehab) held at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital after a long break due to the COVID-19 restriction.

Some 19,237 people have visited in the fair which started on 23 December.

During the fair, the  REHAB authorities said that the participants sold and received booking worth Tk 1.98 billion including plots worth Tk 1.25 billion and commercial space worth Tk 0.74 billion.

Besides, they got a bank commitment of more than Tk 15 billion.

REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin (Kajal) at a press conference said, “We got a huge response from buyers at the fair.”

He also said, “The fair sees a huge turnout of visitors which makes us hopeful. We have gained the trust of our buyers amid the fear of COVID-19. We can say that the housing sector has turned around.”

He thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for announcing incentives for the sector to cover up the damage caused from COVID-19 pandemic.

“We tried our best to show quality products at the fair. The buyers will take the final decision,” he also said.

REHAB Vice President Kamal Mahmud, Vice President (finance) Mohammad Shohel Rana, vice President Lion Sharif Ali Khan, among others, were present at the closing ceremony of the fair.
