Four people have been arrested in connection with the killing of Cumilla City Corporation (CCC) councillor Syed Mohammad Sohel and his associate Haripad.

The law enforces arrested them from Golabari Border in Cumilla.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, unidentified miscreants shot Sohel and Haripad to death at his office.

Six others were also left injured in the shooting. They were undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.

The councillor and some other people were sitting in his business office at Pathuriapara in the afternoon. Three Stars Enterprise was the name of his business office. He also used the office as his councillor’s office, according to police.

A group of miscreants veiled in mask entered the office and fired on them at about 4:00pm.

Hearing gunshots, local people rushed to the office. Meantime, the miscreants fled the scene.
