Three children were killed and four others injured after a microbus hit a truck in Sichni area under Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Khokon Das, 6, son of Putul Das, Lipu Chand, 9, son of Pronab Chand and Niloy, 9, son of Keshob Das, all of them hailed from Mollargaon village in Kalkalia union of Jagannathpur upazila.

Quoting locals, Kazi Moktadir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shantiganj Police Station, said the microbus hit the parked truck while the victims were returning home after attending a wedding party at the Paglar Al-Ferdous Community Center at 10:00pm on ​​Dabur-Jagannathpur road, leaving one died on the spot and injuring six others.

Among the injured, two died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical Hospital, he said.
