1.4m students to sit for HSC exams this year

The Higher Secondary Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2021 under 11 education boards will begin on December 2 across the country.

Education board sources said a total of 13,94,629 students are expected to appear in the examinations this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 11,32,981 students will take part in the HSC exams under nine general education boards of the country.

Of them, 3,14,704 are in Dhaka board, 1,50,704 in Rajshahi board, 1,17,309 in Cumilla, 68,441 in Barishal, 62,792 in Sylhet, 1,15,794 in Dinajpur, 70,925 in Mymensingh board.

Apart from this, 1,13,144 students are expected to sit in Alim exams under Madrasah education board while 1,48,504 students under Technical education board.

In this regard, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will brief journalists at her Secretariat office at 4:00pm today, sources said.
