Shawdesh Desk: Authorities at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport have detained the Secretary General of Liberal Democrat Party (LDP) Redwan Ahme from the domestic terminal for carrying ammunitions without declaring them.
Redwan, the former MP, was found carrying seven rounds of bullets and a magazine passing through security scanners this morning, Airport sources said.
The authorities later handed over Redwan to Airport Police.
According to rules, anyone carrying arms and ammunition must declare it to airport authorities in advance, but the LDP leader was boarding the flight without following the procedure.
Confirming the news, Noor-A-Azam, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station said a case has been filed against him in this connection.
“He will be sent to court later in the day,” the police officer added.
